Rogers' Hardscape Pros

Tips and Tricks from One Pro to Another

Do you offer a warranty on your work? Maybe it's for one year or two. Consider what a longer warranty might mean for you. If you are installing your hardscapes according to ICPI and NCMA specifications, your work is going to last much longer than one or two years.

When I was installing, our company was one of the higher-priced companies in our market. Many times I had to justify the pricing if we had a competitor trying to grab our job. Many times the final decision came down to reputation and warranty. Our green goods were warranted for three years and our hardscapes for five years. Occasionally, we were called on a warranty issue outside the time frame and we gladly fixed what was wrong. Why would we do that? The goodwill we got from a couple of hours of labor far outweighed the cost.

Consider your warranty policy for this year and see if you can increase your company's value in your customers' eyes.  In this market, every little advantage you can find will help you weather the economic storm.
